Soooooooooo much going on! What fun!

December is one of my favourite months of the year!  I love all of the activities that happen at school and I love the excitement of the kids as they prepare for the holiday break!  Perhaps Flat Stanley will share in some of your "photo ops" over the holidays!  Reeghan shared her very own Flat Stanley fun recently with an awesome bristol board display!
Flat Stella joined Reeghan and her family for Thanksgiving dinner!  She also helped with the harvest of their garden.  She played in the first snow fall of the season AND she joined Reeghan's family for a Cirque du Soleil adventure!  Great job, Reeghan! I love how you used speech bubbles to help Stella "talk" about her adventures with you!

We've also had some more great pictures arrive from our Dr. Seuss experience!

We have another field trip coming up to the Simcoe County Museum to enhance our Social Studies units!  The trip will celebrate Victorian Christmas and Christmas Traditions.  Check this out on School Cash Online.  We'd love volunteers to join us!

Also be sure to check out our December newsletter coming home soon.  Many activities are coming up quickly including our Primary Holiday Concert and our Gr.8 Business Fair.  We'll also have a PJ/Movie Day on the 21st, the last day of school before the holidays, AND, we'll have a class celebration with treats!  Please see the newsletter for our treat team.

Also be sure to check out our newsletter for a great new way to practise math online.  IXL is an excellent program that lists 10 free activities you can try for all of our math strands and all of the lessons we've studied thus far.  As we dive into new lessons, I'll make suggestions on our "remind" app for what you can try at home using this tool.  I'm excited for you to see this website!  It's easy to navigate and very engaging for the kids!

I hope to see everyone for the Primary concert!  I wish you all a safe, happy holiday season too!

Dr. Seuss ROCKS!

We had such an amazing time on November 5th for the Dr. Seuss Experience.  I truly wish we could have had all of our parents join us for this.  Your kids were so engaged and so excited, as was I!  Thank you for supporting this trip and for your enthusiasm too!  I'll post photos here as they trickle in from our volunteers.  If you don't see many with your child yet, they're sure to be coming!

What a great day this was!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our Parent/Teacher Conferences this coming week!

After that, we have the Christmas Concert to look forward to!
Dress Rehearsal is Wednesday, December 11th at 11:30 and parents are welcome to attend.
Evening Concert is 6:30 and we ask all students to please arrive by 6:00 to classrooms.
Students in our class should please wear black on top and jeans (or something close!) on the bottom.
Thanks!!

Flat Stanley Fun!

Hi families!  I'm a bit late this week getting my blog up to date, and unfortunately, I was remiss in getting assembly pictures OR Halloween pictures!  What a busy week it was!  But it was super fun.  I'll be more "on the ball" as Christmas approaches and we'll have some fun snapshots of the fun the holiday brings into the classroom.  What I DO have to share though are the fantastic adventures Flat Stanley has taken so far this year!  You and your kids are showing great creativity with this project!  Thanks for all that you've been doing to make this project fun for all!

Bowen took Flat Stanley to visit his cousins!  He's very excited that all of his cousins are teenagers!  He was also very excited to participate in the Terry Fox Run this very same weekend.  Way to go, Bowen!

Evie's Aunt Andrea has taken Flat Stella to Hawaii!  Evie included a map so that we could see the LOOONNNGGGG adventure and plane ride for Flat Stella.  She visited a volcano!  And she played in the sand at a beach with a jumping rock in the background!  What fun!!

Dougie spent Thanksgiving weekend in Kingston visiting friends on their horse farm!  Flat Stanley enjoyed visiting the barn and meeting the horses!  More recently, Dougie had a visit from his Uncle who lives in Alberta!  They were jamming up a storm on the guitar and Flat Stanley got right into the action!  I can't wait to hear you and Flat Stanley on the guitar one day, Dougie!

More Thanksgiving adventures included a trip up north to Algonquin Park for Ally, Mom, Dad, Becca, Flat Stella and lots and LOTS of cousins!  Flat Stella enjoyed meeting Ally's family and playing in the campground.  They also enjoyed lots of hiking through the beautiful Fall colours.  We decided during Ally's presentation that her pictures with Flat Stella show us the truest forms of what makes up Canadian landscapes in all their beauty.  Pine trees, coloured maples, rock and lakes......lovely:)

Thanksgiving weekend was also super fun for Georgia and Flat Stella!  She got to enjoy some turkey and took a beautiful Autumn walk with Georgia's sister, Ella!  I've had the pleasure of teaching BOTH of these wonderful Eichenberger girls.  How lucky and THANKFUL am I???!!!

Shortly after Thanksgiving, Claire celebrated her 6th birthday and was SO excited to have Flat Stella be a part of her birthday party!  After that, Flat Stella joined Claire, her daddy and her little brother for their pumpkin carving session to get ready for Halloween!  Happy Birthday, Claire!

Jack took Flat Stanley to Great Wolf Lodge!!!  And he and his mom created a BOOK about Stanley's adventure!  How cool is THAT??!!  Check out all of the adventures that Jack wrote about.  Flat Stanley even risked getting a little bit wet in the water park!  I'm so sorry, Jack!  I've been looking everywhere but I just can't find the option to turn your pictures the right way up!  Maybe we can pretend that Flat Stanley is sliding down a water slide on his side!

Great Wolf Lodge has so many neat things to do!  Glad you had fun, Jack!

Ben created a very cool presentation for HIS Flat Stanley adventure TOO!  Ben and his mom created a collage of pictures!  I need to apologize to you TOO, Ben!  I'm afraid your picture is sideways too!  Let's hope your trailer didn't end up on it's side during your camping adventure with Flat Stanley!  Sure looks like he had a fun time.  Sauble Beach is another beautiful place to visit in Canada!

Thank you to everyone for putting such effort and enthusiasm into these projects so far!  We sure are enjoying sharing these adventures together!!

More Stella adventures and green pancakes too!

This certainly has been a tricky year.  But we're making the best of some tough situations!  We're learning a lot and we're maki...
